The Clippers Have Abandoned Their Fans
Not even a customary apology.
It has now been more than a week since the LA Clippers were given the largest punishment in NBA history. Along with five first-round picks and three suspensions came a 35-page report that—among other things—determined Steve Ballmer not only violated league rules, but also gave inaccurate (at best) statements proclaiming his innocence.
That last part is important. Because it's where this story becomes especially disrespectful to the fans. It was already embarrassing for this long-suffering fanbase to watch its team get exposed for a cheating scandal that produced three playoff series wins, but to be misled (at best) for a year, receive no apology, and get left with this mess? Terrible.
But it's even deeper than that.
