Clippers Take First Step Toward Listening to Fans
A pledge has been made.
In his introductory message to the fanbase, interim LA Clippers governor John Gibson said the organization is committed to earning trust every day and wants to hear from fans.
"We want to hear your concerns. We want your ideas. We want your perspective."
So far, there has been no official outlet provided for fans to do that, but the invitation is a necessary start.
One of the more favorable reads on this entire scandal is that Steve Ballmer was simply doing everything possible to win, and stumbled into some rule violations in the process. The 35-page investigation report paints a much messier picture, but there are at least some people giving Ballmer that level of grace.
After all, this is the same owner who walked out to Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in a WWE-style entrance at Staples Center six days after buying the team. Was this salary cap circumvention stuff just a case of poor judgment by someone obsessed with delivering the Clippers an NBA championship?
