Exclusive: Darius Garland Opens up About Leading Clippers
The 26-year-old is still learning himself.
"No maybes about it. There is gonna be a lot riding on DG’s shoulders."
Those were the words of new LA Clippers guard Max Strus when asked about Darius Garland. Specifically, Strus was asked about the opportunity Garland has to be the undisputed No. 1 for the first time since becoming an All-Star.
Strus raved about Garland's leadership and the way he can light up a room with his positive energy. The two played together in Cleveland for parts of three seasons before Garland was traded for James Harden in February. They reunited when the Clippers acquired Strus this summer.
Garland calls Strus one of his favorite teammates and appreciates his kind words, but they don't always reflect the way he feels about himself.
